Course Description

Step into the world of literary analysis in this workshop approach to reading, appreciating, interpreting and writing about classical literature from ancient sources, including sacred writings. Explore how literary styles and devices such as proverbs, parables, prose and poetry are used to communicate in different ways. Also examine historical and biographical narratives and examples of prose discourse such as speeches, letters and essays. Reflect on how literature helps us view our lives from a new perspective, informs our stories and helps change how we see the world, other people and ourselves. Strengthen your ability to read, think and write critically and learn to defend your discoveries properly.
