Course Description

This course is designed for artists beginner fabricators and hobbyists to learn welding safety and fundamentals. Students will practice the four primary processes of arc welding including: Stick MIG Flux Core TIG and various cutting processes. While learning and practicing these fundamentals students will acquire an understanding of what processes best suit their desired application. The course will begin with a detailed overview of welding and metalworking safety. Every class meeting will feature instruction and practice in these common welding processes.


Safety equipment is included in the cost of the course. Students must furnish their own pair of safety glasses and work boots and wear appropriate welding work attire such as long pants in the lab. Course takes place in the Advanced Technology Center.
