CFSP 25 - Speech & Oral Presentations 2: Improv & Drama & Competition Prep (Grades 6-8)
Course Description
Take your speaking and writing abilities to the next level in this newest verbal course offering. Dive further into the mechanics of stage presence and direction improv acting vocal techniques and the ethos pathos and logos of the message you wish to communicate to a larger audience. Highlighting IHSA Speech categories you will research write cut edit and prepare group and/or solo pieces for presentation at a showcase event open for parents and families on the final evening of class. This course is offered only for sixth seventh and eighth grade students who have qualified for the Fast-Paced Gifted Program.
Students: Bring paper a pen or pencil to take notes and a highlighter. Bring your own device (tablet Chromebook or laptop) with Wi-Fi capabilities and Word or Doc writing app or program. When not being used specifically for class-related activities all devices must be silenced turned off and put away. (See Code of Conduct).
