Course Description

Touching on the four elements of Verbal Skills--listening, speaking, reading, and writing--build on your creative writing skills through the study of great literature texts and the components which make that literature great. Each week you will explore various writing skills and techniques related to setting, plot, characters, theme, conflict, point of view, mood, tone and more as you work to create and polish your own original pieces. Gain experience with editing and revising, learning to give and receive helpful feedback and using digital tools and apps which will help with polishing rough drafts. Cap off your writing journey with an Author's Showcase and an opportunity to share your work for all to enjoy. Bring a laptop or tablet to class.
