Course Description

Through The Magic Lens Part I, learn Michael Clay Thompson?s original and enormously successful approach to grammar, based on the four-level sentence analysis: parts of speech, parts of sentence, phrases, and clauses. Learn to understand complex grammar relationships as simple but beautiful illustrations. Areas of study include types of pronouns (subject, object, possessive, interrogative, demonstrative indefinite, relative, reflexive, intensive); degrees of adjectives (good, better, best); proper, verbal, and number adjectives; action, linking, and being verbs; verb tense; principal parts of the verb; subject/verb agreement; parts of sentence; types of phrases; and the four sentence structures.
Typically Offered: Offered fall and spring only.

This course is offered only for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students who have qualified for the Fast-Paced Gifted Program.

Students: Bring paper and pen. Bring your own device (tablet or Chromebook) with Wi-Fi capabilities. You will receive your textbook at the first class meeting.
